Counseling Workshop for Police/PAC/RTC at Mirzapur District, Uttar Pradesh
“Zindagi Ek Prathmikta” Foundation, World’s First NGO working for Suicide Prevention is working since 2017 at a much broader aspect and scale, covering Students, Police Department, Farmers, Celebrity and Media. The NGO recently organized a Counseling and Mentoring workshop on Stress Management, Depression and Suicide Prevention, at Mirzapur Range (Mirzapur District) on 01st August 2019 for the Police Department, where Ms. Isha Yadav (President), Mr. Ashu Gaur (Secretary) and Ms. Komal Chauhan (Head Program and Media Coordinator: Uttar Pradesh) explored, interacted and addressed the Challenges, Root Causes and Solutions towards coping up with Mental stress, State of Depression and Suicidal Tendencies / Ideations among the Officials. Earlier on 29th July 2019, the team of Zindagi Ek Prathmita also conducted workshop in Sonbhadra District (Mirzapur Range) at Police Lines.
Such a workshop being first of its kind for the Police Department/PAC/RTC was meaningfully planned and organized by Zindagi Ek Prathmikta and special thanks to DIG Mirzapur Range, Mr. Peeyush Srivastava for encouraging such an initiative. Ms. Komal Chauhan was appointed by the NGO as Head Program and Media Coordinator of Uttar Pradesh State by the NGO to take this initiative in the entire state at the fast pace so that not just officials from one District or One City but within the entire state of Uttar Pradesh could be benefited with the program.
Maintaining Law and Order is in itself a challenging task, one has to actually deal with both sides of the coin in society and therefore for maintain the Peace and Harmony, and the Police Department has a great contribution towards the Society.
Long and uncertain work hours, erratic working schedules, dealing with Criminals/Victims and facing the heinous crimes in society with disturbing effect at times on mind, its noticed that these bring a steady and negative effect on mental peace of these officials and where people notice only one side of coin of the life of Police Officials, the other side of same coin actually shows someone who is mentally stressed, at times depressed and this has shown us some real figures in past few years of increasing incidents of Suicides in Police Department. The list of problems and challenges resulting in the Depression and Stress is not limited to just these; the list goes on and on, where not just as individuals they get affected but also their families. A 10 Point Program Draft is prepared by the NGO to address and help officials undergoing Mental Trauma and Depression, due to what-so-ever causes and the individuals participating in our Workshop and Program will be provided counseling and can also volunteer this non-profit cause.
Zindagi Ek Prathmikta Foundation also launched a Whatsapp Helpline for Suicide Prevention and Advocating in Relieving Mental Trauma.

Since Year 2017, while dealing with Student’s Suicides in Rajasthan and especially Kota, which had grown importance as Competitive Exam coaching hub within the Country, the NGO has helped over 20,000 Students so far and averted 18 On-Spot Suicide Cases. “After the remarkable achievement by Zindagi Ek Prathmikta within the Rajasthan State, Ms. Isha Yadav also received the appreciation from the Kota (Rajasthan) Administration for saving the lives of the students and counseling several of them, the next goal and vision of the NGO is focused towards the Police Department and NGO is planning to have several Activities, Projects and Workshops to address this”, as Quoted by Mr. Ashu Gaur (Secretary, Zindagi Ek Prathmikta)
