Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. Rishi Kapoor could shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen for just six days when he was first diagnosed with cancer. He then moved to New York for a year-long treatment and once he was cancer-free, he resumed shooting for the film. However, within months, the cancer returned.
The Movie is a masterpiece of Story Telling with a smartness of Director to tackle the unexpected demise of Shri Rishi Kapoor before completing the script and taking up Paresh Rawal for completing the movie.
