Film Festival in U.P to Promote Art, Culture and Cinema

Ever since his comeback to silver screen after three years in 2016 with Bhoomi, Sanjay Dutt is the bollywood buzz not just for his upcoming releases but also for the much awaited biopic, “Sanju”. Undoubtedly Sanju is one of the biggest scheduled release of 2018. The characters of the movie may it be Ranbir Kapoor’s resemblence to Sanjay Dutt in main lead or Manisha Koirala’s perfect looks as Nargis Dutt are trending the social networks. So 2018-19 is going to be a golden phase ahead for Sanjay Dutt with yet another movie Torbaaz’s second schedule completed recently in Kyrgyzstan. The film casts Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt and Rahul Dev in main lead roles and is produced by Raju Chadha, Girish Malik and award-winning film maker Rahul Mittra.

Back from the Torbaaz shoot in Kyrgyzstan, the actor is back, he has started working for his home production, ‘Prassthanam’. The movie is being currently shot in Lucknow. In between shooting for this next venture, actor Sanjay Dutt and producer Rahul Mittra has a meeting with Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath and Principal Secretary Awneesh Awasthi, along with other top officials from Uttar Pradesh and NRI Jay Patel. During this conversation, Sanjay Dutt shared that his maternal grandmother Jaddan Bibi came from a village called Chilbila which is near Allahabad and offered to adopt the village. The offer was embraced by the CM Yogi Adityanath and Awneesh Awasthi.

Furthermore, Bollywood’s eminent producer Rahul Mittra proposed a Film Festival in Uttar Pradesh to promote Art and Cinema in the state. CM Yogi Adityanath also asked Rahul Mittra and Sanjay Dutt to explore other regions like Bundelkhand for their upcoming ventures in order to promote UP as a filmmaking hub and cultural destination. The 30-minute meeting revolved around a lot more, discussing different issues of the state and offering support to each other.

Not many know but it was Rahul Mittra, who was the first producer to get a subsidy for his movie ‘Bullet Raja’ in the year 2013. He also spoke at the UP investor’s summit which was held lately.
